Comments to the book
“Silvia Boadella’s luminous book about Sophie Taeuber evokes the life of the artist clearly and precisely. Biographical details are intertwined with the processes that propelled Sophie Taeuber’s mercurial output. The book has the shape and feeling of a novel, but is more grounded in fact than fiction, whilst daring to take us inside the mind of the artist. At once personal and informative, produced with as much care and attention to detail as Sophie Taeuber’s own work, Silvia Boadella’s book both ensures the artist’s legacy and forges a new form of portraiture, one that is as full of longing as the artist’s work she so lovingly describes.”
Sally Potter, film director
“I read your text as a tender, vivid, and profoundly intimate portrayal of Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s life, work, and art. – Also, it almost seems a little ‘outside of time’, which seems to fit Sophie Taeuber-Arp (and our generation) very well.”
Klaus Merz, author
